5 Russian fulfillment companies for cross-border ecommerce

Recently I received an interesting report titled “Internationalising your brand in 2017.” It had been commissioned by Arvato, a Germany-based media technology firm, and made by WBR Insights, a consulting company.

The report is based on a survey of 200 decisionmakers at major ecommerce retailers in america. It gives insights on how top American brands are planning to expand their business in Europe.

Internalization consists of many things: currency and language localization, pricing and regulatory policy, payment techniques, market preferences and tendencies, and automation and security technologies.

Cross-border ecommerce brands are particularly concerned with:

  • Locating a fulfillment partner that could offer an entire range of services, to represent the brand.
  • Partnering with a local business, for market experience.

The market in Russia, according to the Arvato report, is number nine in the listing of leading expansion markets by U.S. brands. Small and midsize ecommerce merchants can expand into Russia, too, provided they master the neighborhood fulfillment and delivery challenges.

In this guide, I will profile five Russian businesses that provide fulfillment services to overseas producers and merchants, including customs clearance, returns, and advertising support.
